The POPE Professional® SC Series represents a major advancement in cinema screen channel speaker design. Incorporating many new POPE Professional® engineering breakthroughs, the SC Series is designed to provide optimal coverage in “stadium” seating auditoriums, where front-toback coverage provides a difficult challenge for even the best conventional systems. The three-way features a multi component modular design which allows quick installation, with little or no assembly required on site.

The mid-range and high frequency horns feature an unusual asymmetrical flare design, which provides a narrow pattern at the rear of the room, and a wider pattern at the front of the room. This design minimizes energy radiated at the side walls, while concentrating sound in the seating area. The high frequency horn is coupled to a PD-2111 2” throat exit compression driver, and also features a controlled collapsing pattern at the very highest frequencies, which compensates for the screen's effect of widening the pattern, thus resulting in a constant pattern in the seating area. The dual 10” mid-range cone driver is housed in its own enclosure. The unique radial design of the driver significantly reduces throat distortion and frequency “time smear”, resulting in noticeably clearer, more natural sounding dialog.

The SC-215 dual low frequency sections incorporate POPE Professional's “push-pull” driver arrangement. Each driver pair is out of phase relative to each other both physically and electrically, yet their product is acoustically in phase, substantially lowering mechanically induced distortion.

The SC-218B cinema sub-woofer loudspeaker system uses dual 18-in cone transducers each mounted in its own optimally vented sub enclosure to fill large capacity theaters with high definition sub bass information at real earth-shaking output levels.

The SC-218B's optimally vented enclosure uses enclosure resonance to increase sub bass response while limiting driver excursion. This method produces less distortion and minimizes driver strain while extending sub bass response to the lower limits of human hearing. Special effects will have greater clarity, greater power and greater impact. Each 18-in woofer is individually accessible via a two-terminal barrier strip, which accommodates bare wire, tinned leads or spade lugs, located on the side of the enclosure for convenient access in cramped installation areas. The use of multiple SC-218B provides even greater output capability and further extends low frequency response. All external components feature a textured black finish to eliminate the reflection of light through perforated cinema screens.
